Experimentation with folded paper and card forms for the roof of the outdoor space. I found paper was too flimsy. While card held the shape exceptionally well, it became heavy and hard to attach to supporting beams (below)
Sketched cut-out ideas on a lighter flat board of card for the roof (below)
Final cut out design completed. These cut outs mirrored the geometric patters of the overall model while also allowing light into the space (below)
