My vision for my initials is a paperweight. As a result, I was interested in achieving a glass finish. Opting for a dark colour was based on personal preference. I used the Rim Highlights background to reduce glare and allow the transparency desired. I like this effect as it allows the viewer, at certain angles, to view the middle initial through the prism. 

I also experimented with a mirrored finish, and additionally a mirrored finish with golf highlights before settling on glass.
